Abit AV8 3rd Eye - BIOS does not detect SATA drive

Installed a Hitachi DeskStar hard drive in my computer. When turned on Bios doesnt detect it at all. No message on monitor as if my computer isnt starting at all. I,m not familear with SATA hard drives only on IDE. Drive has no programs at all so how do I get it ready to be used. HELP, I need some.

Are you saying the computer is not booting since you installed the drive? Just trying to make sure I undserstand. Is this a replacement drive or is it a secondary drive? If you are able to boot is the drive detected in device manager or disk management?
