ABIT AW9D-MAX work without the sound card

Will this motherboard work without a soundcard it shipped with a daughter card called the Abit AudioMax 7.1 Channel Sound Card which i dont have and im having problems the code displayed is 5d which is 5D - 1. initialize Init_onboard_Super_IO
2. initialize Init_Onboard_AUDIO
which is why I wanted to know if it will work without the sound card
I get as far as the tab for post or delete for set up screen but the keybords not connecting on either ps/2 or usb so i cant proceed
in the code list it shows reset keyboard if keyboard not reset but that comes after the 5d code i stop at

I got an old ABIT AW9D-MAX motherboard im trying to set up but i cant connect a usb or ps/2 keyboard and my question is would a pci e to usb riser card solve the problem or would that need drivers before i could use it i know drivers would be best but like the gpu works basic function without drivers would the usb riser card work basic too so i could get into bios and install os then id be ok
