Hi all,
I am new to this forum and wish to say thank you.I have a very old Abit IP35 Pro that I am trying to
troubleshoot. When installing ram the mb will always stay in single channel mode.I have tried various brands of memory with no luck.It wont recognize any dual channel setup of memory.
Is the board toast, or is this a BIOS issue with the board?
Currently board is out of pc case until I can start troubleshooting process again, but this is my current setup:

CPU: Intel Core 2 Quad Q9450
Motherboard: Abit IP 35 Pro
Ram: ADATA 8GB (4X2GB) PC2 6400 DDR2 800
SSD/HDD: 2 Seagate 500Gig Hard Drives
GPU:Nvidia GeForce GT610
PSU:Rosewill Performance RP550-2
Chassis:ATX
OS:Windows 10 64 Bit
BIOS Version:18

Welcome!

You would need to start off by listing your specs like so:
CPU:
Motherboard:
Ram:
SSD/HDD:
GPU:
PSU:
Chassis:
OS:

You then need to verify if you're on the latest BIOS update for your motherboard. Then you will need to list the sticks of ram you've used to verify that the board might be at fault here.

I will edit my post..thanks!!

ADATA 8GB (4X2GB) PC2 6400 DDR2 800

tried various brands of memory

Using multiple kits, multiple modules sold as singles, buying from questionable sources, being unable to list part numbers all increase the possibility that the problem is your choice of memory.
