Abit motherboard/Antec 900 question

This is pretty specific:

The Antec 900 comes with an HD Audio connector and AC'97 connector for the front panel ports. I'm assuming this means you use one or the other for the FP-AUDIO1 connector on the motherboard right? What's the difference between HD Audio and AC'97
