I have an NF7-S2 wiyh a single SATA harddrive. The Bios lists it as an IDE
drive and when I try to load the SATA driver, Windows XP replies that it
cannot find the device. The drive works fine, but the system is unstable,
shuts down sporadically, and I think it may be related to the driver not
being loaded. Thanks for any help.

Whether the driver is loaded correctly, should be available in hardware
devices.
The bios does indeed identify it as an ide device.
I've just used this board on a new sys, with win2k. With this o/s it is
neccessary to install raid/sata drivers with the install of the o/s, using
the F6 option to install third party drivers, as part of the o/s install. My
understanding is that winxp has inbuilt drivers for certain sata devices.

My NF7 board ids SATA drives as SCSI. Thought they all did that in
Device Manager.
