Abnormal CPU spiking?

Hey guys,

So I recently built my first legitimate computer and I've noticed some stuttering during use when it's on for like an hour. I am worried that it could be a CPU issue because I was not completely sure I had seated my CPU cooler on correctly. Thing is I believe the CPU temps are fine for the processor, and when I restart everything goes back to normal immediately. I have a warranty on my CPU so if it is indeed a CPU problem I'm going to get it replaced and definitely put a new cooler on there.

PC Specs:
Windows 10 Pro 64bit
Intel Core 17-7700K
MSI GeForce GTX 1060 6GB
Corsair CX600M
16G of RAM

Yeah, any help would be greatly appreciated. It's quite frustrating to go through a bunch of odd computer issues, and hopefully someone has some insight.

The first mistake you made with your build is that you're working with an unlocked K suffix processor part on a B250 chipset, you should've either gone for a non K suffix processor or a Z270 chipset board. You may want to also specify the cooler on your board since the K processor part doesn't come with a stock cooler of any sort.

Now, have you made sure your motherboard BIOS is up to date? Have you made sure the usage spikes are also shown on Task manager's Resource monitor? If the issue persists you may want to try a repair install and see if things change.

Thanks for your input. I don't think I updated the BIOS, I definitely didn't flash anything if that is what's required, so maybe I should give that a shot? I also had just restarted my computer and I'm not getting those intense spikes like I did, however I'm getting these slight dips:

I'll keep an eye on my Task Manager resource monitor, it seems to be running smoothly right now. If I have those spikes seen on Resource Monitor I'll go ahead and check out Task Manager

Now would you recommend flashing my BIOS before a repair install? It sounds like the correct route to go to start out.

UPDATE:
I've updated my BIOS and I have a stable blue line on my Resource Manager. I am gonna let my computer run for a few hours and see how everything goes from there. I'll be sure to update here with any results.
