[SOLVED] Abnormally High Temps.

Hello All,

I recently purchased an AMD 3700x, a Gigabyte x570 Gaming X Mobo, and a Noctua NH-D15 Cooler.
I've overclocked the CPU to 1.41 Volts and 4.3 GHz

I Ran a couple of stress tests on CPU-Z and FurMark's CPU Burner, these both max the 8/16 to 100%
The temps are around 80 Degrees:

When I tested on Prime95 the Temps are at the high 90s!

All other applications and games I tested on never exceeded 80 Degrees, but Prime95 seems to skyrocket.

I also changed the thermal paste on the CPU and the problem still remains.
AMD's Auto Overclock with their ryzen master software seems to do the same thing, the volts are much higher though.

Would this be because of Prime95, testing other aspects of the CPU?

What version of Prime95 are you running? If it has AVX enabled you'll see stupid high temps. Disable AVX instructions or run version 26.6 if you want a realistic test.

I have ver 26.6, but I'm not sure how you disable AVX. Does that mean it won't be a problem in real case scenarios?

There is no AVX on v26.6. My 3700x didn't get anywhere near that temp with a Dark Rock Pro 4 cooler. What are you using for temp monitoring?

Nevermind, I did not have 26.6 after instaling 26.6 the max temp was around 81C Thanks.
