So, here's the deal.

Skyrim used to run smoothly on my Laptop few days ago but now, this 'thing called game', has started to give me trouble.

The core problem: whenever i try to climb on a horse, my character starts to lag. Imagine playing a picture or movie frame by frame. That's how it is. Character lags for few milliseconds. Also, the drawing distance of graphics has dropped tremendously.

Did i mentioned that this problem doesn't happen when i run Skyrim on Intel HD graphics..

Solution
Download this, this, this, and this.

Give those a whirl.

Also, download Auslogic's disk defragger and defragment your HDD.
Try clearing your temp files: 'Windows button + R', '%temp', 'Ctrl+A', 'Delete'.
Get CCleaner, let it run.
Get Razr Game Booster.
OMG! you have an HP and called it beast... you may as well called it pedo and it would still have as much cred... :p
jj
chances are its a driver issue or your power managment settings may be set to power saving rather than max perfomance.
as soon as the cpu reaches 50% or more it throttles to save battery life... so yeah check the power managment settings then the gfx drivers.

btw im glad you didnt say my rig... at least you have that much humility... lol...

Hey, in my defense, i live in a place where even this kind of machine is hard to get.
An average income here is about 60,000 annual.
High end Laptops costs about 120,000 rs/-. That's a lot for a Laptop.
Also, it's my first Laptop so lots of sentimental value is behind it.

On topic, No and No for power management. I always run at high performance and make sure that Laptop is being charged or atleast, it's not on battery. so, power management is out of question.

ajay64 here...

Thanks. Problem is quite solved. The game still has some lags but now it's acceptable.

Solution: - Most of mods slowed down my copy of Skyrim actually. So, i had to give Registry and Harddisk a through defragment run.
Also, thanks for game booster recommendation.

Get GameBooster man, it'll solve your woes.
- Run a virus scan to, as stuff in the background that burns resources may cause your problem(s).

PS: Congrats on your first laptop, I'm still running my HP too. :sol:
