I was going for Intel Pentium G4560 until someone suggested me to wait for Coffee Lake CPUs, but the news somehow for 300-series motherboards are only focused on Z370 motherboards. I did researched about the date release of 100-series mobos before and it shows that they release Z170 mobos for Skylake earlier than the cheaper ones. So are they going to do the same this time? Some says they will release 300-series H and B chipsets next year.

The leaked 8600k gaming stuff looks interesting, but, it's about the small gaming boost most anticipated. I want to see if BF1 scales above 8-10 threads with 8700k..

Can someone explain the B/H mobo thing, been out of the loop awhile. I am going to start buying for a new build and will deffo get an 8TH Gen Intel CPU. While looking at the Asus Prime Z370 among other mobos I saw a lot of ppl saying they were waiting on the H/B mobos due out in March 2018. What exactly are these?

not sure if they will keep the same number system in the 300 series but, this is how it worked in the 100 series.

Z170 - for gaming (overclock support)

H170 - same as Z170, but non-overclockable (Cant overclock CPU, but RAM may be overclockable with Intel XMP with this, but requires a unlocked CPU for RAM overclock)

B/Q Series - Business Series - absolutely no OC

H110 - low end (ultra budget) motherboard with minimum features.
