Hi im have an issue with my pc freezing during movies and games randomly. And looking to buy some ram replacements. I have found a seller on ebay who is selling new and boxed HYPERX FURY BLUE 4GB MEMORY RAM DDR3 1600Mhz. He is selling them as singles. I heard that they are sold as dual channel also macking up 8GB or 2x4GB. I know the pairing is essentual for compatibilty reasons. The question is if i purchase 1x4GB now and purchase the other next week will they be dual compatible as they are exacly the same make and model?

The answer to your question is yes and no.

Yes if you buy them separately they will be the same model and they SHOULD work perfectly together. I have done this many time (not even buy a separated set but buy one and then buy another later) and it has worked fine. It will work dual channel no matter what, its whether they will be stable with each other or not.

That said, there is a chance, however small, that it won't. Usually its when memory companies switch chip vendors but keep model numbers, however sometimes it could just be a variation in a chip batch.

For that reason being that you only have a week to wait, if I were you I would wait a week and buy a matched pair. The delay is worth the small possibility it won't work.

By bitter experience I can assure you that the only guarantee that two units of RAM will work together is to purchase a matched pair. Even RAM single units purchased within a short time of one another and having exactly the same Manufacturer and part number may well not work together and cause your P C to crash even though individually they work perfectly well.
Do not believe anyone who informs you otherwise.
