i have the one with the normal bearings...wish i had the one with the fluid bearings...
my drive is very quiet....and is VERY fast....
it doesnt run much hotter than my maxtor ata-66 10 gig that spins at 5400 rpm...and this thing is 7200 rpm...quite a performer...
and the one you are talking about, the one with the fluid dynamic bearings, run cooler and quieter than my almost silent drive...
it is a great drive, and at a great price...if you are thinking about getting one, go ahead and get one...great deal....

I myself also think it's a good drive. I don't own one, but I have used two or three different drives from the series and they all seem to be top notch. I have gotten pretty sweet bench marks off of them and like he says they run quiet and cool even if you have the ball bearing model.
