About PCI x16

My motherboard is Intel 945GCNL.It has PCI x16 Slot.

My system memory has 1GB DDR2 ,533 bus speed.

If I buy a PCI 2.0 x16 card,can i use it using my motherboard???




Should the memory of the graphics cards be DDR2?

Will it cause any problem if the PCI card has DDR3 ?

Any help will be highly appreciable.

The PCIE slot on your MB will work with any PCIE video card. The GDDR memory of the video card has no bering with regards to compatibility to the MB.

i plan to buy an ati raedon 4550 graphics card or 4600 ........

can the card runs on my MB?

Is there any degrade of performance of the card due to MB or RAM?

They will work fine. There will be no loss in performacne due to the MB or RAM besides any bottlenecks you might run into if the RAM or CPU are suficiently inferior. But even then the card will still be an upgrade.
