About physx requirements

I have a gtx 780. Can I use it to play games and run physx at the same time or do I need an extra gpu to run physx? I also have a gtx 650. Also do I need a second monitor?

Any nvidia gpu from like the past 4 or 5 generations will run physx just fine, they all have a dedicated physx processor built into the card. Especially with a 780, definitely a top notch card that should be able to max out any game with no problems.
 


Thanks everyone, but will using my gtx 650 for the sole purpose of running physx make a difference or there is literally no difference than if I were to use the 780 to both play games and run physx?
 


is there such a thing inside nvidia card? i thought they let the general purpose processor to handle the calculation for gpu physx.
 

I believe it is processed by CUDA with proprietary software in the drivers.

 

yes, your right, it doesnt have a physx dedicated processor. it uses some of the GPU's cuda cores for physx acceleration. in the case of using a dedicated card, all of the cards cuda cores are used for physx, for the few games that support it.
