Certainly someone from this site reached the above article, as they try to make HDD obsolete, some issues come to mind:
1. price, and 2. survivability
1. As companies manufacture more ssd, the price will go down slowly, but steadily
2. Use of ssd there is concern when the higher capacities tb+, gain more widespread use in the future, their ability to survive into the future maybe of concern since ssd will eventually suffer with lots of read/write cycles,
3. For data archiving and long term storage, the best kind of storage commercially available to individuals is the blu-ray. It is working very well for me to use for backup in case physical hard drives and solid state drives reach their "end of life".
