So, my current tv-monitor is starting to fall on it's knees (i've had it for 6yrs now), i wanna buy a 1440p (i'm not sure how many hz, that's one of the reasons i'm making this thread) monitor, my current rig is the following:
i7 8700k
asus rog gtx 1070
16gb ram
samsung m.2 960 500gb
2tb wd hdd
Can i handle 1440p on various hz: 1440p 60hz 1440p 120hz 1440p 144hz

Thanks. :)

Hello, thanks for the repply, mostly gaming at the moment and at some point (when i decide to do something with my life) 3d design. Games that i play : witcher 3, skyrim(modded), world of warcraft, starcraft, overwatch, LoL, and various of other single player games

3d design not sure how big your projects will be but from reviews you should be able to get 80 plus frames. LOL / overwatch im pretty sure can do 144hz at 1440p but most triple A games your going to struggle for 144hz but they should be able to get 60hz - 90hz for majority of triple A games, could have to change game settings but 144hz gaming wont be happening

alright. for overall best gaming experience would you prefer more refresh rate 1080p 120/144hz monitor or a 1440p 60hz one

I have never tried a 1440p monitor but my personal preference would be 1080p at 144hz just because of the smoothness and your GPU will be able to achieve that in close to all triple A games and in 3d design. but then again you are doing 3D design so to help with that a higher res would be good but, as your looking for a good gaming experience my say would be 1080p at 144hz

alright, thanks everyone for the help, think i'll go for 1440p just to see how it is, and it will be more long term because at some poinmt i'll replace my gpu as well. As far as monitors go, what brand do you know to be reliable with good products, warranty, support etc. I was looking at a Dell monitor called Dell UltraSharp U2719D , it is 8ms input lag, will that be such a big of an issue? My current tv-monitor is 5ms.
