I actually decided to try reseating it a little while ago, and managed
to bring my sound back.
However, when I just turned on my computer after having it off... it
went away again
God I love computers.
I don't even think the sound is WORTH opening the damn case up and
unplugging everything whenever I want to turn the frigging thing on!

Just for sh-- and giggles, try clicking on START, then PROGRAMS, then
ACCESSORIES then ENTERTAINMENT and then open the Volume control and adjust
your volume levels.
If this doesn't work, try uninstalling your Sound card software, reboot
the computer and make sure on Sound Card files are gone and then re-install
and if there was an DMA problem or an IRQ problem, it may clear it up.
Good Luck
