Just yesterday, I just built my PC. But just one problem. I am getting 4 mb download and 3 mb upload on my 50 Mbps time warner cable. I have realized I got an N150 wireless adapter. This arris dg1670a modem/router that twc gave me support 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz. Does this mean the router is AC and i'll need to purchase a AC wireless adapter?

To answer the question about the router, either log into the admin page and look at the settings or look on the description provided on your TWC account. As for the slow wifi, that is likely a setup issue on the current adapter that needs to be addressed. It certainly won't hurt to set the router's 2.4 GHz wifi to N only wifi and see if it helps. But if you want to take advantage of an AC router, a new adapter will be needed.
802.11ac offers backward compatibility to 802.11b/g/n.

If you're saying your modem/router is running on AC, and your card is N, you should still have a good connection, it will still work. If you're saying your card is running AC, and your modem/router is N, your card will be backwards compatible still.

You shouldn't need any sort of adapter.
