AC/DC adaptor

Hi wonder can anyone help. My monitor need power DC 12V 4.0A external lead, which I have not got, but I have a AC/DC adaptor output : 12V DC 500mA Can I use this one?

No - better consult your monitor manufacturer or you can search that on their website. Other AC/DC adaptor have a non standard connector so even if it has the same voltage and current with your monitor it still won't fit in.
