Good day all,

While ordering my wife's xmas present, I need to spend a few more dollars to get cheap shipping (averaged out in the end, but I get something out of it!) so I add a Freezer 7 Pro cooler for e6400. I also got some OCZ Ultra 5+ silver thermal compound (couldnt find arctic silver 5 at the place I ordered from).

I know I need to clean the current stuff off of the e6400 from the stock intel HSF w/ 80%+ rubbing alcohol, but should I just use the thermal compound that comes on the Freezer or clean it up too and use the Ultra 5+ stuff?

Suggestions? Thanks!

I'd honestly use the thermal stuff that is already on the heatsink. I have the AMD version of that cooler and it performs beautifully with the stock stuff.

From what I've read, the MX-1 thermal compound, which is already on there, performs better than Arctic Silver 5, when paired with that specific cooler.
