I was just seeking some opinions on how to cool my computer room . Here is what I was thinking I was thinking of installing a portable AC and venting it into the basement. The basement is unfinished basically it just has a concrete floor and it gets quite cold even in summer (as it is mostly all below ground level) and I only want to Install the AC in my computer room because is summer it gets quite hot. So I was thinking that venting the hot air to the cold basement would actually help warm the basement. What do you think?

If not how would I vent it to the out side as I have casement windows in my house and in the winter it would have to be stored. Most of the venting "kits" seem to be for horizontal sash style windows.

Wouldn't it be better to address your pc cooling options. My old pc use to heat my computer room up alot.
I've since replaced it with a huge upgrade case and cooling wise and my room is quite bearable now.
I don't think i would like a portable or window shaker in my pc room because of the noise they create.
You could cycle your furnace fan on auto/no heat if you have forced air heating.
This would pull all the cool air out of your basement for hot days.
Also venting warm air into a basement achieves nothing hot air rises.
I don't know your budget or where you live but Mitsubishi,Panasonic, and LG make
ventless cooling solutions and some for single zone applications 9000btu max.
They are very quiet around 25-30dbA since the small compressor is outside.
Btw i'm a certified HVAC engineer.

You could go water cooled put a large radiator in the basement and use something like a central heating pump for circulation. You would need much smaller holes for the pipes than for an AC vent it would use a lot less power.
