I am looking an TP-LINK Archer T9E AC1900 and TP-LINK Archer T6E AC1300 for my desktop PC. I have a Fios Quantum Gateway and its using a 5Ghz connection which is what I am using. Is it worth paying the extra money for the T9E AC1900? (I like to game online and stream HD videos on my PC)

So AC speeds are pretty confusing, but the higher the number the better the POTENTIAL speed. The only thing you really need to know is: unless you have a bad wifi connection (too far away/interference etc), your wifi will be many times faster than the internet.

Both AC1300 and 1900 have the same 1300Mbs max speed. In some cases. Other times AC1300 is ~867Mbs.
Don't forget to refer back to the first sentence frequently.

Check what your actual wifi connection speed is.
Where faster wifi helps is transferring large files around.
Even average 11n wifi will be much faster than very fast internet.

You don't only use the internet. You also play games online.... which is.... also the internet????

Your internet connection is 100Mbs.
If your wifi has a good connection it should be ~1,000Mbs.
Your wifi should be 10 times faster than your internet.

That's assuming online games use 100Mbs. More like 10 at the most.
