Hi - I have a Dell 7470 laptop (windows 7) that won’t start. Most likely the motherboard needs to be replaced. Now I need to save my files and pictures from the M.2 SATA SSD. If I buy an M.2 to USB enclosure. Is it possible to access and copy the files to my Chromebook? Or does it need to be a windows computer to access the files?
Thanks for any help

Welcome to the forums, newcomer!

I'm sure you can source a (donor)system that is running on Windows in order to recover/migrate files from the M.2 storage device. It would be a cheaper path than buying an adapter.

Not sure how the solution with donor system works. How could I connect that to my laptop with the M.2 storage device? I was thinking that if I buy the adapter I can use the M.2 as extra storage to my chromebook also. Or will it not work?
