I just bought a TP-Link N600 WDR-3500 Router. I was planning to use this Router as an Access Point.
So at home, I use Verizon's Services, so I have it's Router. It is the main router. Then I tried to make an Access Point with the TP-Link Router but it failed. These are the steps I took to make it:
I had Ethernet connected from the Verizon Router to a 500mbps Powerline. On the other side of the house, I had another 500mbps Powerline connected to my TP-Link. I set up the TP-Link following the instructions online. First, I set the same SSID, set the same encryption key, set the same password, changed the channel (My Verizon router was channel 1 and this one I made channel 6), and I also set DHCP server to off.
This was all working for 5 or 6 hours, but then I just had no internet. The wifi bar on my windows 8.1 computer had a yellow triangle! Help, what did I do wrong?
