Hello everyone,

I have 'D-Link DSL-2750U Wireless N 300 ADSL2 + Router' that I have bought in the year 2014. Here is the link to the product page-
https://www.amazon.in/gp/product/B007O7J026/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1

In the year 2015, I purchased 'Netgear WN3000RP-200PES Universal Wi-Fi Range Extender (Cream White)' via the link https://www.amazon.in/gp/product/B004XACSV2/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Everything worked perfectly fine until recently. Today, when I configured Netgear Extender to extend D-Link's signals a strange thing started happening.

Whenever the extender latches onto the modem the modem's WiFi would show an error stating 'Access Point temporarily full' and doesn't connect to it at all. Although the wired connection from the modem and the WiFi connection through the extender works perfectly fine.

I had stopped using this extender a year back and recently I reset it to start using again. During this time I had activated MAC FIltering on my modem for all my devices at home. Although, currently I have turned the MAC Filtering off on the modem to use the extender.

Can you people suggest me the cause and the remedy to this issue? Shall I reset the modem to the Factory Defaults and try extending the WiFi signals? Or is there another remedy to achieve it?

All your help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Access points (and wireless routers) have a max number of clients they can support. Once that limit is reached, the device will refuse any new connections. Page 35 of your router user manual (http://global.dlink.com.sg/site_support/DSL-2750U/Manual/DSL-2750U_T1_Manual_v1.pdf) has more information.

While your router may have hit the limit (or it might just think it has hit the limit), I suspect that turning it off and then on will clear the client list allow you to connect. If not, I would consider raising the limit.
