Hi there,
I have set up an old router as an access point, a TP-LINK TL-WR841N. Call it Router2.
I have switched off DHCP and set a static IP address on the LAN outside the DHCP range of the Internet Router1.
I have connected a LAN port to a LAN port of the Internet Router1.
My problem is that I cannot get an Internet connection over WiFi on Router2. Tablet says, "cannot get an IP address".
If I use the Router2 diagnostics to try to update the time, it tells me there is no internet connection.
I can ping the Router1 default gateway IP using the Router2 ping function.
If I connect a laptop to another Router2 LAN port, I can get wired Internet ok. I assume this is because the switch is still active.
The Router2 functions perfectly with standard setup and Internet connection on the WAN port.
Any ideas what I can try?
