Thanks to Herc08 in a previous posting, help me in purchasing a new router. I have hooked up the router started the setup. I have setup passwords and got connection. Router seems to be working great. All WIFI items are getting connections and loading properly. But when I try to log back in to the router (192.168.1.1) I get a window from Windows security Iexplore wanting to know username and password? Server reports it is from rt-ac56u. Then it has spot for username and password. It warns this may not be a secure connection. It will not let me through, if I cancel it gives me pink screen with 401 unauthorized on it. What am I doing wrong here?

ignore the warning and carry on . its basically saying the router is self certifying the Https certificate and they are not a known certification company... i think to do that you have to click advanced then proceed anyway or something similar.. its fine because you are not on the internet . It thinks it found a fake site.. which in a way it has .

you can always install chrome or add http://192.168.1.1 to the trusted list in your internet security settings..

Getochkn I try keying in my user and PW, I do it twice then I get pink screen with 401 unauthorized. Paul I added 192.168.1.1 to trusted sites, but still get same pink screen.
