[SOLVED] accessing corupt old sata HDD into my PC with new hdd

I have a problem where my old HDD sata has a corrupted OS and i have all my files there and I presume that its still transferrable however as I connect it to my pc with new hdd, (before that what i did to troubleshoot my corrupted OS i did some of the built in advanced repairs and none of them work and stuck in checking and repairing disk)
I expected that it will boot to my new hdd but it continues to do disk check. is there a way to skip the disk check and just directly browse my files in the old hard drive to be transferred to my new hdd right away?

Obtain a USB-SATA dock.
Power this potentially bad drive up only after the system is up and running on its regular drive.
