Question Accessing Drobo without a username/password ?

Dear all,
At work we have an old Drobo with no username/password. Drobo is now out of business and cannot get a reply for resetting username/password as my predecessor had registered the device using his personal mail address. I would like to use the device as a shared drive. Any suggestions on how to use it without the username/password or can it be accessed using a free software?
It would be a shame to throw the device away in a tip.
Any recommendations please.
