Accessing old programs on xp hard drive

If I were to dual boot xp and windows 7/8 on 2 hard drives, would I be able to somehow run the xp programs while on win7/8 without registry problems? I don't really keep discs/installers/product keys handy, so reinstalling them to 7/8 will be difficult.

You will have to reinstall your software on each version of Windows.
