Question Accessing the internals (HP Demon Case)

Hi, I have just retrieved a 4 year old HP Demon from my loft with the intention of upgrading the memory. Never had a reason to access the internals before, so I tried taking the side panels off. One side had a couple of the normal little screws and this was the side I thought would give me access, but upon removing it (very easily) it turns out it was the side with the racking.
I then tried the other side which had no screws and thought it would just slide off no problem. However it will not budge at all, I tried gently prying it to slide off, but it will not move at all.
Is there anything I am missing, or did the builders just put the sides on the wrong way round.

Assuming you just haven't used a big enough hammer or pry bar.......

I'd suspect it's more likely by design than mistaken assembly.

OEMs like HP generally aren't much interested in accommodating repair or upgrade efforts by end users.

Dig for the manual.
