accident mistake, anything damaged?

My brother was comparing video card noises (idk why) He had the computer on, and he accidently put the video card (that requires 8+6 pin connector) without turning the computer off. When he put it on the mother board, he hasnt connected the pin yet. The fan on the video card started spinning extremely fast. Right when he noticed it, he turned the computer off knowing that he forgot about it. Soo on the end he had it in for roughly 5 seconds. Could there be any damage dealt? Or should he not be worried.

Only way to find out is to finish installing it and connect everything up, if it works he got lucky.
