[SOLVED] Accidentally Changed RAM while computer on

I installed ram and on my pc it said the ram wasn’t reading. I went over to my pc and forgot to turn it off and changed the ram slot of the ram that wasn’t getting read. I unplugged my pc and turned it on again after 30 seconds and my display is black. My PC fans are on and everything. Only my display and keyboard aren’t on.

Well..you may have actually killed something.

RAM stick, motherboard slot.

Either or both.

Completely unknown.
You have to try with another RAM stick, in each of the slots and see what happens.
Or the existing (potentially cooked) RAM stick in the other RAM slots.

There's also the possibility you fried the memory controller on the CPU.

Well, from that very tiny test, it seems like you need to buy some replacement parts.
What else have you tried?

Since the RAM stick does not seem to be the problem...the motherboard and/or CPU.

Well that’s great.. any recommendations for Motherboards and CPUs
