Hello,
I had zip tied my +2 pcie power cable out of the way when my GPU required dual 6 pins but now my GPU requires an 8 pin connector, unfortunately when i was cutting the +2 pcie power cable away from the zip tie it made an cut into the outer rubber coating, if i look closely the wire is exposed very slightly, is this dangerous, the computer is still running fine under load, and any way is should attempt to repair it, and how this will affect my 7 year warranty.
Thanks,

and how this will affect my 7 year warranty
I guess it depends on the PSU manufacturer.
But being as it's damaged you've caused, almost guaranteed the warranty is now void.

Now seen it's a Corsair, yes your warranty is void if you can't prove that your cut hasn't caused whatever "problem" might occur. But they will likely stipulate that your damage is the cause.

Ok anything else in reference to the rest of my original post.
Not from me, I answered the bit I was most appropriate on answering.

Personally when it comes to computer components, I don't repair or patch up, if I see exposed wiring, I replace it.
But theoretically if there is absolutely no damage to the inner wiring, then electrical tape could suffice. But it's a big if.

I'm sure there are more specifically electrician based visitors here that would be better suited to answer than I.

The PCI-e carries lots of power. Is it only one cable cut, or multiple? If it's multiple, it will cause shorting, if its a single then personally I'd just wrap some tape around it (or, just make sure it doesn't touch metal anywhere). As it is modular, are you able to buy a replacement cable now or in the future?
