Ok so I just finished building my new pc and I was getting the free version of windows off of a USB, but I accidentally clicked on windows 10 s instead of windows 10 h, and now I cannot open any games or applications I install from the internet. need help please

Solution
boot into the bios set boot order to usb.
boot from windows usb installer.
go into advance mode and delete all of the partions.
let windows reinstall itself after you wipe the drive.
make sure you made the usb stick from windows media creation tool so it a vaild windows installer usb stick.

1. There is no "free version". There is Windows 10, unactivated.

2. "Windows 10 s"? You mean somehow you installed Windows 10 Starter?
Not quite sure how you did that, but the only "fix" is a full wipe and reinstall with a valid Windows 10.
Win 10 Home or Win 10 Pro, whichever you have or will obtain the license for.

1. How do I do a full wipe?

2. Can I just install the unactivated version (from my usb) of windows home instead of buying it?

I am completely unsure of what you actually installed.
"Windows 10 s" ?

1. You do the whole install again.
Windows 10 Home.
This time, when it asks where, select Custom.
You'll be presented with a list of all existing partitions.
Select each, DELETE.
Leaving one large blank space.
Create a single partition using the whole space.
Continue the install process, letting Windows create what it needs.

2. Yes, you can install it and leave it unactivated. There are some limitations, but it will run no problem.

#1 above lists the steps needed to wipe and reinstall.
Or, ask a friend who is conversant in Windows.

boot into the bios set boot order to usb.
boot from windows usb installer.
go into advance mode and delete all of the partions.
let windows reinstall itself after you wipe the drive.
make sure you made the usb stick from windows media creation tool so it a vaild windows installer usb stick.

I just did the same exact thing!
To fix it!
1. Restart computer
2. Choose "BIOS" when restarting, it was "delete" for me, could be F11 or F12, just make sure you select "BIOS"
3. You than want to reorder the boot order, placing the USB first
4. Than it will start you over so you can install the correct OS
5. When you are choosing with drive to put it on (SSD or just basic hardrive) make sure to delete everything.

Than you should be good to go. Good luck.

Hi there. I’ve done this but I’m still not allowed to open any programs as it says my org bastion has blocked it via windows defender. Any tips on how to fix this?

What specific version of Windows 10 do you have installed, and where did it come from?
