Accidentally orders EV0 versions instead of ASUS M5A99FX PRO R2.0

I know a lot of you own the ASUS M5A99FX PRO R2.0 and would know right off hand what perks it has, so:

I thought I was on the Pro page at Newegg and was so exited to get it for only $125! Problem is, I was on the M5A99X EVO R2.0 page by mistake when I ordered! The pro actually costs $150 ($20 rebate voids your right to return defective merchandise) which is $25 more. I doubt I'll ever SLI but that extra Sata port on the pro could come in handy.

Should I bother cancelling the Evo order so I can get the pro instead? Other than x16 speed SLI , the extra Sata and Esata ports are there any other significant differences I'm missing? Thanks.

No difference. The evo has 6 sata and 2 esata and the pro has 7 sata and 1 esata No real difference It mostly the crossfire thing and even on the evo running two cards at dual 8x isn't a big dip in performance. I have the evo, decent board, no complaints other than when overclocking the VRM's hit their thermal limit, but that's really the same for any board. High overclocking really requires full water cooling loops, etc.

I cancelled the order because I'm still torn over whether or not that 7th Sata 6GB port is something I can do without. I plan on adding more drives (including SSD drives) and I'm already running 4 hard drives plus my dvd rom.

BTW Walmart has the M5A99FX PRO R2.0 for $135.98 vs Newegg's $149.99. Can I trust Walmart online if I somehow end up with a bad board?

well neweggs hould match walmarts price I think, and if not, go with walmart. it's a board in a box, it's not like newgg makes them vs walmart making them.

Well, I'm speaking of customer service regarding online returns in case there's a problem with the motherboard. I will try to get Newegg to match it then as I prefer them (BTW their MIR offer would actually void any chance of returning a defective product per customer service chat, so the "final" price of $129 is not really an option). But that's the first I've heard of Newegg doing pricematching. Thanks for that tip!

I'll never order mobo online cuz ur right if it's defective u have to send back wait for new one and could hav same problem..The only thing I'll buy is a new cpu or ssd but since the frys by my house has price matching for online I just go get from there.i had to order the amd 8320 for 129 at tigerdirect cuz they didn't have at store.. sucks but no taxes and free shipping..

First, why post in a 2 month old thread.

Second, why post about something that has nothing to do with the thread at all.

Third, some people don't live close to a retailer and have to order online. Ever think about that?
