Long story short, my son said said he accidentally put his headphone jack in the USB port and the PC shut off. When he rebooted, he got the ‘Please select boot device message'. His M.2 SSD is no longer detected (none even as I bought a new one and even inserted my own), none were detected.
I tried to install Windows on a HDD drive but even then, I was experiencing problems. When it boots up the mouse and keyboard turn off once it's passed the MSI logo. I have altered various settings in the BIOS but this still occurs unless I turn the PC off when it's on the MSI logo and then reboot - don't know why this is a thing but it's a temporary solution.
When I loaded up the fresh install of Windows, I then ran into another problem. I couldn't install the PCE wireless card or ethernet driver. Looking at the motherboard it appears that the PCE wireless card isn't being detected either (in PCIe slot 1).
I am wondering if when my son inserted the headphone jack into the USB it messed some of the circuitry or something on the motherboard. My knowledge on this is very limited so any advice would be greatly appreciated. I have posted images of the board explorer. If you have any questions, please let me know.
Thank you!
Specs:
Windows 10
Nvidia GTX 1060
Intel Core i5-4690K @ 3.50GHz
2x DDR3 Corsair
M.2 NVMe 970EVOPlus
HDD 1TB Seagate SATA
Bear in mind all this worked perfectly fine for close to 2 years now until this accident happened.
