Accidentlly turned off computer while updating

My laptop doesn't even turn on or anything. I already tried with the charger and nothing turns on. It seems to have no power. (Before i turned it off it had a whole bunch of letters and numbers and it said " press any key to continue. and then it started counting down from 5 seconds) Please help.

A botched Win Update shouldn't keep the laptop from at least powering up. And most times a botched update will recover after the machine is connected to the internet, anyway. I suspect something else is wrong. Try starting the laptop with the battery removed. My Thinkpad allows for that kind of operation. Not all do.
