Hey, I'm selling my old computers' parts, and wanted to fix the pins on my cpu that were bent out of position, but when I got to the last two pins, I accidently broke them simultaneously. Is the cpu now busted? I don't want to sell a broken piece of hardware.

Solution
Absolutely. Don't sell it. It's now an old paperweight. I wouldn't start it up either you might brick things since it can become a fire hazard, Good luck!

The depends on whether those CPU pins were carrying a vital signal or not. On some CPU's many pins are unused, and some are redundant.

What CPU...and if you could post a picture of the bottom of the CPU would be helpful. Be sure it shows where Pin 1 is located. If you can pop it back in a system and try to bring it up would also be a way to tell if it's use-able.

No one is going to buy broken cpu that has broken pins because you never know what damages it did.

I would... it depends entirely on the processor and the discount though. I 2700X for $5 US is well worth a gamble the two pins happen to be unused. There are a lot of unused pins-- almost as many as redundant ground and VDD pins.

By contrast, an FX-4100 isn't worth $5 even if it's in unopened retail packaging.
