I accidentally unplugged my graphics card when PC was turned on. Everything is fine now, but when I turned it on after plugging it back in, the system was updating. I was just wondering if anything happened when I accidentally unplugged my gpu from the PC even though everything is working right now.

I plugged in the gpu without the brackets because it wouldn't fit in my case. So when I want to plug in my hdmi to extend the display, i felt the card got out of place, and my monitor turned dark, which I instantly unplug the computer, so nothing short circuits. Anyways, thanks for your help!

GPUs are generally plug and play, it won't shortcircuit just your your gpu will stop working. The thing which can go wrong is the GPU cooling but since it's pretty hard to have the PSU connectors unplug, then nothing can happen (as long as it just falls out of the pci-e slot and the PSU cables are still connected to it.

Curious about your answer Ginger.
Made me think about the slot, but since some cards aren't externally powered with the 6 pin plugs (etc), then there must be voltage on the PCI-e slot.
Scary plug and play since your still talking quite a few watts.
Regardless, that was quite an uninstall Antimax !
