Account removal not working

I wish to delete my account but trying to do that from the account settings page gives HTTP Error 500. I tried clearing cache and also using different browser - still the same.

I've noticed that there are other people with the same problem and the answer is to contact community support but there has been no answer since I sent an email on January 2nd.
