Acer 5315 Recovery problem

Hello,
My Acer Aspire keeps failing to recover. I have replaced the HDD (twice, just in case the 1st one was faulty). I have the recovery discs set but it always fails at the same point on RCD1. I just get the following error message "Error copying Z:\images\R5E0A531.029, the disc cannot find the sector requested". I have tried different copies of the discs, different HDD, replacement DVD/CD drive, but all lead to the same message. I am starting to pull my hair out with frustration now, does anyone have any ideas please?

Hello Coupe1965;
This error message occurs because you replaced the hard disk that had that Z: drive with the recovery image.
At this point, with a new HDD, there is nothing for the Recovery Disc to re-install.

What happened to the original hard disk?
What version of Windows are you working with? That model might have originally come with XP or Vista.
