hello to everybody!!

I am about to buy the TFT LCD ACER AL1952, but before making that hard decision I d love to read your comments or opinions about that monitor. I also consider two others options, ACER AL1916 As and 1917 As, but in this post I just will speak about AL1952.

Since i think you cant find this model in the states, but in Europe (by the way, I wonder why) i will give you the Technical specifications in case you dont know it:

PVA Technology

i am going to use it for programming and designing in macromedia flash professionally, pictures as a hobby, and movies for fun.

I have many doubts, and would like to hear any opinion you have about it, but I specially hesitate if DVI is such a good investment, and if 1000:1 contrast is something I need, specially taking into account that the bright is no more than 300.

Something else... someone told me today that the true bright system, used for instance by Sony, gives you much bigger colours quality...I have no idea about that system, nor how is it named by other companies.

Thanks to everyone

Well as of july this is the best dual purpose panel out but i am wondering where you are buying this acer because as most other things it is only available overseas right now. Except for the viewera v191wd-s which newegg has for $260 w/ the same samsung SVA 1200:1 contrast panel. ~~If you play games 98% of the time go get a 2ms panel that looks like poo compared to this one .. l8r all

Get something with an IPS panel. You will be very dissapointed with your off angle viewing with a PVA, especially if you are doing color critical graphics work.
