Acer aspire 4738g troubleshooting display problems

Hello,
sir i have a doubt pls clear me it
a laptop that is working but when we switch on it at first the display also on then it coming to the desktop at that time the display going to black
and we connected a desktop monitor at that time it switch off after that it wont on. then i remove the battery and charger and after some minutes i put it back then it switch but no display
what we do please give me a good answer to it
