I recently upgraded my Acer Aspire 5334 laptop from it's original Intel Celeron 900 SLGLQ 2.2 GHz Single Core to an Intel Pentium T4500 2.3 GHz Dual-Core. It works WAY better than it did even when the laptop was brand new. I replaced the original HDD with a 256 GB SSD for the Windows 10 Pro OS, removed the Optical Disk Drive and replaced it with a 1 TB HDD for storage. In many ways it's like a new machine. I tried to increase the RAM from the prescribed 4 GB (2X2GB) DDR2 to 8 GB without success.
So . . . basically I've got two questions. One, what is the best CPU that will work in a 5334 ( . . . I tried a T9800 which simply didn't work) and, Two, is there any workaround that will allow me to increase the RAM to 8 GB? It's been a learning curve for me and I've picked up a lot but could certainly use the advise of someone more knowledgeable than I am.
Thanks!!!
