Acer aspire 5532-5535 optical drive

This is a new acer from the store. I started it up to make a system backup disc. followed all the on screen promps. But after I click start to burn the disc, the drive opens up & I get a message saying to insert a disc & press start to continue. So I do it & the drive opens up again. I then tried to just load a pre recorded movie DVD and the same thing happens. How do correct this problem. What is causing it. Any help I can get please. Im new at this.

Return the computer to the vendors.
New computers are supposed to work.
If you try to fix the problem, the vendor might try to say you broke it.
So don't do anything, just return it.
