Acer aspire E15 charger/power not working.

recently my laptop has stopped taking charge. first it was working on and off until i wiggled the power connector.

Next day it will show that it is accepting charge when plugged in for 3-4 seconds then stop. Won't turn on without the battery inserted, when it is inserted and i plug it in the charge light turns on (but guessing no power is going through.)

I took it to a shop and tested another charger and he was adamant it was to do with the motherboard.

Does anyone know what would cause this problem (in a bit of detail) and if theres any solutions I can try?

Maybe a bad cell in the pack. This will prevent from charging although the shop's inclination sounds correct.

the laptop won't turn on with the charger/ac plugged in.

I'm wondering if someone could point me in the direction of where I can get good parts from in UK. Looking to get the motherboard replaced.

ebay.com or ebay.com.uk is where I get my parts. Have same laptop and my USB ports ore going out-MB issue.
