Acer Aspire V3-551 crashes after Acer Start-up screen.

Hello and thank you in advance! I purchased an Acer Aspire V3-551-8469 around 3 years ago. I just had this issue today when starting it up. I pressed the power button and the standard Acer start up screen with a loading circle. It kept doing that until a light blue screen popped up saying, "Recovery Press Enter to try again, press F8 to go to start up settings and press ESC to go to bios". If I do not select an option quickly enough it restarts. I can access the bios but it crashes when trying to load up windows. I am running Windows 8.1. What should I do? All help is welcome.

sounds like you have a driver error try rapidly pressing F8 after the bios screen you sould get a few options. try last known good configuration

Is this a laptop or a desktop? Are you able to run safe mode? If you can boot hit F8 when the Windows start screen pops up and enter safe mode, then try and run a system restore to the last point where it worked properly.

I have been very busy the last while but I finally broke down and had a friend who works in computers look at it. He said it was a virus and is being taken care of. Thanks for all your answers!
