Acer Aspire VA70

I have a VA70 that the backspace, + and - keys don't work. I feel it is just the keyboard and want to buy one from China that is a replacement. Any chance this is a motherboard and not a keyboard issue?

almost certainly a keyboard issue, not the motherboard. If it was a motherboard issue, no keys would work.
