I've had this laptop for nearly 3 years without issues, but in the last few months, I've had thermal issues.
The temps are around 70c idle and increase to usually around 100c under light-moderate loads. I noticed this after a semester of FPGA programming especially under synthesizing. The weird thing is that although the CPU temps say 100c, and the fan is screaming , the air coming out of the fan is cold, and the bottom of the laptop is barely warm. Elevating the laptop has negligible effect.
I'll clean out the heat-sink soon, but I was also wondering if anyway has had any issues with the thermal paste on these laptops? I'm dreading doing it since it looks a bit more complicated than their desktop counterparts. Any thoughts would be much appreciated
Also for those not too familiar with this CPU, I have talked to friends with the same CPU, and they have much lower temps.
Specs:
Model: Acer Aspire E14 (ES1-411-P2LF)
CPU: Pentium N3540 (2.66GHz Boost)
RAM: 4gb
Storage: Samsung 850 Evo
