Each time I turn on my laptop it shows a little blue screen then quickly changes to a black screen. The black screen states that windows was not shut down properly and to try one of the sfe modes and those do not work. I do not have any back-up or restoral disks, so what can I do. : 🙁 😗

Not many options with the situation you are describing. I would call the manufacture or take it to a local repair center if it's out of warranty. You could also try installing ubuntu or something to that affect if you were comfortable with that option since it would be free to try at least.

Well I don't know how good you are with computer but you could probably use an OEM windows 7 ISO. These Windows 7 ISO's don't have any keys supplied with them, so they are totally legitimate, but you still need the OEM key found on your laptop (as long as you still can see the key, you should be able to use the Windows 7 ISO.

I've used this method to do a clean install on my laptop so I don't have bloatware or junk I don't want.

Take a look at my post here:

When you install you just have to make sure the windows 7 you are installing is the same one found on your laptop (if you have home premium, install home premium). You also have the choice of either 32bit or 64 bit install - it doesn't matter which you choose but I reccomend the 64bit OS.

After installation you will have to go to Acer's website and download the drivers for your specific laptop.

Read my post that I linked. An ISO is just basically a file that you write to your CD-R or DVD -r so the files can be read on the disc, it's an image of a disc (in this case windows 7).

You will have to do this on another computer as you require an internet connection as well as blank DVDs. There's also the option of using a USB key.

1) Go to my post

2) Download the Windows 7 ISO

3) Use the computer you download the windows 7 ISO to burn the ISO to DVD. You will need something like ROXIO or NERO BURNING ROM to do so. In Roxio for example, to burn an ISO - you will have to use the "Burn Disc image to disc".

4) Reboot your computer with the DVD in the drive. It should come up with install options.

5) Make sure you select your correct OS, you probably have windows 7 Home premium - select that.

Please note by doing this - you will probably wipe out all information on the laptop.

If you don't want to lose the information - you will have to take out the laptops hard drive and slave it to another computer to pull all the information out.
